This three-day conference provides an engaging, behind-the-scenes experience designed to fully immerse participants in our culture, methodology, and practices, which we call The Brookwood Way.

Discover a proven, purpose-driven model that empowers adults with disabilities to live with dignity, purpose, and meaningful work. The Brookwood Way Conference is an immersive, behind-the-scenes experience at The Brookwood Community in Brookshire, Texas, created for leaders, families, nonprofits, ministries, and organizations seeking to build or strengthen thriving communities for adults with disabilities.

What If Three Days Isn’t Enough?

There are two PRE-Conference sessions and two POST-Conference sessions available!

Choose a PRE-Conference Experience for Monday, Sept. 21:

• Satellite Immersion Opportunity – Get Inspired. See it in action! REGISTER HEREA unique pre-conference site visit to one of our Satellite Work Programs designed to provide a real-world glimpse into what a Brookwood-inspired start-up can look like. Both locations are generously donated spaces, reflecting our commitment to fiscal stewardship, and each visit includes a guided tour, time observing our Citizens at work, and lunch with a Brookwood leader who will share insights on startup strategy and building a mission-led program. OR
• Introduction to Handbells Workshop – Add music to your conference! REGISTER HERE
  Learn the basics of teaching handbells using a Brookwood-developed method, including proper technique for ringing handbells and handchimes and an introduction to reading adaptive notation. Helps you discover if this is an experience you would like to offer to those you serve.

Choose a POST-Conference Experience for Friday, Sept. 25:

• Fundraising Essentials Course – Go Behind the Scenes with Brookwood’s Development Team! REGISTER HERELearn proven fundraising strategies from Brookwood’s Development Team, covering donor cultivation, foundation relationships, peer-to-peer fundraising, events, volunteer engagement, and donor management systems. OR
• Fundamentals of Citizen Life – Go Beyond the Tour and See how We Create Community REGISTER HERE
  An in-depth look at the divisions that make up Citizen Life at Brookwood: Residential, Work Program, Spiritual Life, Admissions, Medical, and Activities. Led by our department leaders, with time for Q&A.
